Grobnik

      Grobnik is situated in the inland of the city of Rijeka. It is located near racing-track Grobnik, ski center Platak, sports airport, beautiful peaks of Grobnik Alps - Obruč (1376 m), Suhi vrh (1280 m ), Fratar (1358 m), Tunina glava (1160 m), source of the river Riječina and beautiful grass fields-Grobnicko polje, thus make it attractive sports and tourist destination. There are numerous sports clubs that operates in this area and some of them are: parachuting, paragliding, gliding and hang gliding club, horse-riding club Vodicajna (therapeutic and recreational riding), mountaineers club Obruč, ski-schools...

Racing track Grobnik The racing-track Grobnik is used daily for training practices motorcycles and cars, test vehicle practice, safe driving and other events. It is in use more than 290 days per year. Since the construction in1978 till now the race-track meets strict world standards of auto- moto federation (FIA and FIM) and has licence for all auto-moto races except F1.

Ski center Platak

Platak is a small, family ski center near the village Cavle with many opportunities for recreation, both in the winter and summer. It's the only ski center in Croatia where from the Radesevo peak (1,363 m) you can enjoy in the sea view!

Except in winter, Platak is very popular during the summer, as the starting point of many enthusiasts in the mountains. Only a few hours from Platak, walking on maintained and marked hiking trails, there are peaks Snjeznik and Risnjak with beautiful viewing points. Also, macadam road on Platak are excellent for mountain biking or a nature walk.

Aeroclub "Krila Kvarnera"

Aviation runway is 1600 m length and 30 m wide. The runway is used for daily flying. Following the ICAO has a Code 3C. At the airport was based aeroclub "Krila Kvarnera."

Within the aeroclub "Krila Kvarnera" operate numerous clubs such as: flight club, club for free-flying, paragliding, gliding and hang gliding clubs. Man's long-standing desire to flying in the air can be met on the sports airport Grobnik under the expert guidance of a flight teacher.
